Robinson's Ice Cream is a family run business with a long and proud heritage in making and selling ce cream.

The current owners grandmother arrived in Ireland, via Scotland, from Italy in the early 1920s. Mrs Coradena Gerardi made ice cream and sold it throughout Belfast from her ice cream bike. The family eventually established a chip shop from which, as well as fish & chips, the Gerardi ice cream could be bought.

Mrs Gerardi's son continued the family tradition, selling ice cream first from his bike and then purcahsing his first van, which contunied to sell ice cream throughout Belfast during the 1950s and 60s.

Her other son George, and his wife Nessy, were also involved. They sold ice cream at the gates of Botanic Gardens in Belfast right through to the late 1980s.
